Switch Your Ordinary Window Into A Computer

One product that is making big waves this year is the Samsung Smart Window. People are really getting excited about this product. This device looks like something that you would see in an old science fiction movie. Basically, this tool takes the place of your old window, your alarm clock, your blinds, and even your wall art if you want it to. It is a touch screen device that runs windows on your windows. The device is semi-transparent so that you can look out your window while working on the window like it is a computer. Additionally, this technology is built so that you can see out of it, but people can’t seen in through it.

The product demo of this new technology featured a woman looking up recipes, checking her Facebook, and even checking out the latest news and weather. The recipe idea is great for the kitchen and eliminates the need to store all your old recipes on paper. An alarm clock could even be added to this window for people making use of this technology in their bedrooms. With a nice new Samsung window, you won’t need to buy an alarm clock. Also, you could have the window go black at night and then switch on to show the light from outside when the alarm goes off. This sounds like a great Ipad application, and I’m starting to wonder when Apple will come out with a competing product. I’ve searched the Apple Computer News , but still haven’t found any news on it. It will be interesting to see a few tech companies competing for your windows business.

One of the beautiful things about this new technology is that it could be used virtually anywhere. Imagine being able to access a computer while you are showering in the morning. You could watch the morning news, check the weather, or read your favorite paper while showering. This would be absolutely fantastic for the busy business person that is trying to squeeze in some extra work during the day. Why waste 15 minutes just standing in the shower when you could be reading through TPS reports?

I imagine that this technology could also be used to display a digital television into it. If it were integrated properly, you cold display several televisions into it. Each TV could send its volume to a different set of head phones. Spouses and siblings would no longer have to fight over who gets to watch their favorite channel each night. Also, you wouldn’t have to worry about cluttering up the whole house with televisions in every room.

I’m betting that by the time this product becomes common, Apple will have come out with a super thin screen that can go across a person’s entire wall. They’ll make it so that you can completely re-model a room just by clicking a few buttons. I wouldn’t want to be a professional painter in ten or twenty years when this technology is affordable enough for everybody to have. I’d be checking up on all the latest Mac commercials to make sure that this doesn’t come out without me knowing about it. If we know anything about Apple, we know that within a few years of launching a product, it is usually mainstream and used by everybody.
